[ARCHIVED] KCSO Seeks Wanted Fugitive

Kootenai County, ID: The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the location of a wanted fugitive involved with several recent thefts.

In late September 2019, the Sheriff’s Office received a complaint from a local resident that her credit card number had been fraudulently used in several different locations in Kootenai County.  Detectives were able to identify the suspect as 32 year old Sarah E. M. Lewis of Hayden, ID. The investigation found that Lewis had been working for a local medical office and had been stealing client’s credit card numbers, then using them to make fraudulent purchases. On October 2, 2019, Lewis was arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. She subsequently bonded out of jail on those charges.

On October 18, 2019, KCSO detectives obtained a $75,000 warrant for Lewis’ arrest for two counts of Criminal Possession of a Financial Transaction Card. Her last known city of residency was Hayden, but it appears she has moved to an unknown location.

Lewis has a lengthy criminal history out of California dating back to 2005, that includes charges for grand theft, burglary, embezzlement, passing ficticious checks, forgery, false personation, and fraud. She has also used numerous last names to include: Neuman, Newman, Kinney, Cariglio and Garcia and was once featured on the Dr. Phil show at the request of her family due to her thefts and lies.

Anyone with knowledge of Lewis’ current location is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, citizens should be vigilant in checking their debit and credit card statements and notify their banking institutions if fraudulent activity is suspected.
