[ARCHIVED] Suspect Arrested After Crime Spree in Two Counties

Cataldo, ID: On 9/06/2019, at around 12:12 pm, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 22900 block of E. Canyon Rd. for a reported battery.

The victim stated she heard a knock at her door and looked out to see a black passenger car. She believed it was her father so she went and put her baby down to bed. As she exited her residence she could hear noises from the garage. She approached the garage where a chair was thrown in her direction, immediately followed by a male reaching up with his left hand and placing it around her neck and pushing her up against the wall. The suspect allegedly told the victim that if she followed him he would kill her. He was described as having a half moon tattoo on his face and was last seen headed towards Rose Lake in the dark colored passenger car.

A short time later another call came in just east of this location off Hayden Loop and Canyon Rd. where the same suspect as described earlier was seen in the area. The suspect was reported to have backed his vehicle into some bushes and left it running. He then approached the residence and contacted the home owner advising his vehicle had broken down and asked for some tools. The home owner retrieved some tools and offered to help the suspect. When he saw that the suspect’s vehicle was backed into the bushes and still running, he asked him about it. The suspect didn’t say anything and then got in his vehicle and drove off.

During these incidents it was learned the same suspect may have been involved in Robbery and Aggravated Battery in St. Maries, Idaho earlier in the day.

A short time later, a caller advised seeing someone in the bushes along Interstate 90 near Mile Post 35. Deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office along with Troopers from the Idaho State Police converged on the area and located the suspect matching the description and placed him into custody without incident. The male was identified as Mark Kevin Hall, a 49 year old male from Post Falls.

Hall is currently on Felony Probation for eluding and was booked into the Kootenai County Jail on charges of burglary and aggravated assault along with warrants out of Benewah County from the incident earlier in the day.

These incidents are still being investigated and more information will be sent out when it becomes available.
