Athol, ID - The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in locating a missing person from the Athol area. Howard Coats, a 66 year old male, left his residence on N. Ponderosa Street in the area of Pope Road and Corbin Hill Road at around 7:00 p.m. on his 2004 Camo Bombarier Outlander ATV and has not returned. Howard was wearing pajama bottoms and no shirt when he was last seen on the ATV. Howard has some medical problems and takes medication which is not with him.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of a helicopter from Spokane County searched the area to include roads going into the national forest last night. Additional resources from Kootenai County Volunteer Search and Rescue will be continuing the search today.
