The following information is preliminary and subject to change as the incident is currently under investigation. Events in this press release may change as the investigation progresses.
On June 9, 2023 around 8:00 PM, family members of missing Coeur d’ Alene resident, Earle Wolfrom, located his dirt bike and his body down an embankment on Forest service Road 206 west of Forest Service Road 1552. Although the incident is still under investigation by KCSO Detectives and the Traffic Unit, it appears Wolfrom crashed his dirt bike while negotiating a corner, and died of his injuries. There is no other information at this time.
Hayden, Idaho – On June, 8 2023, the Kootenai County Regional Air Support Unit and the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Unit, with assistance from Idaho Disaster Dogs, checked the forested areas surrounding Hayden Creek for Earle Wolfrom. Wolfrom was reported missing on June 6, 2023 after he didn’t return back to his storage unit at Hayden Canyon Storage on Government Way in Hayden. He was last seen on Saturday June 3, 2023 riding his orange KTM dirt bike as he departed the storage facility. Several posts on Social Media indicated he may have been seen in the Hayden Creek area so search efforts were focused there.
Units have searched for Earle since he was reported missing on Tuesday. Due to lightening, high winds, and downed trees in the forest area, the search was suspended as of 4:00 PM on Thursday, June 8th.
Anyone with information of Wolfrom’s whereabouts is asked to please contact Detective Kerzman at firstname.lastname@example.org or 208-446-1366.
