[ARCHIVED] 2018 Holiday DUI Mobilization

Kootenai County, Idaho – Over the last two weeks the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office participated with a Holiday DUI emphasis patrol that was happening state wide.  During this time frame, which went from December 14th thru January 1st 2019, the Sheriff’s Office arrested 19 people for DUI Alcohol/drugs. Of those 19 drivers, 3 were arrested on New Year’s Eve.  The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office also investigated a fatality accident on New Year’s Eve that happened at Seltice Way and Beck Road.  It is unknown, at this time, if alcohol or drugs played a factor in that accident.  That accident is still under investigation.

The Kootenai County Jail booked a total of 106 people for DUI during the same time period.  The arrest numbers for the surrounding agencies who participated and the State of Idaho overall were not available at the time of this release.
