The Kootenai County Coroner has released the identity of the 14 year old drowning victim that happened on July 16th on the Spokane River at Corbin Park. The victim has been identified as Jack Henry, a 14 year old from Spokane Washington.

Near Post Falls, Idaho: On July 16th, 2022 at approximately 9:30 pm Deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) Patrol, Marine Section, and Dive Rescue Team, along with Kootenai County Fire and Rescue (KCFR) were dispatched to Corbin Park for a possible drowning. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a 14 year old male from Spokane, who had been at the park with other family members, had not been seen for over an hour. He was last seen playing near the shore of the Spokane River. Deputies located some clothing items near the water that were identified by family as belonging to the missing juvenile. KCSO Divers, with assistance from the KCFR and the KCSO Marine Division, quickly began efforts to locate the juvenile. At approximately 10:48 PM, divers located the juvenile deceased, approximately 20’ from shore in 10’ of water. KCSO Detectives have taken over the investigation of this incident and it is ongoing.
