Update February 14th
The suspect in this case has been identified as Francis D. Gunseor, a 35 year old residence of Coeur D Alene. Gunseor is still in Kootenai Health under guard. When he is released from the
hospital, he will be transported to Kootenai County PSB where he will be booked on an outstanding probation warrant. Charges from this incident are being submitted to the Kootenai County Prosecutor for their consideration.
Once Gunseor is charged for this incident, we will release the victim information at that time. The Female victim is in stable condition at Kootenai Health.

Post Falls Idaho- On February 11th, 2022 at 11:15 P.M. Post Falls Emergency Communications Center received multiple 911 calls from residents on Columbine Ct reporting a shooting that had just occurred. Information that was gathered indicated a male suspect forced entry into a residence in the 2100 block of Columbine Ct and shot an adult female. That suspect then shot an adult male multiple times before fleeing the residence in a dark colored passenger vehicle.
When Post Falls Police units arrived, the female victim was located and Officers began to treat her injuries. That victim was transported to Kootenai Health and is stable at the time of this release.
The male victim was shot multiple times and was pronounced deceased on scene.
A possible suspect was identified who resided in Coeur D Alene. Coeur D Alene Police Department located the suspect in the area of 9th and Best. That vehicle was stopped and the suspect shot himself. The suspect was transported to Kootenai Health and is undergoing treatment at this time.
This incident is being actively investigated and as more information is gathered, there will be further released. At this time, we are not releasing any names of involved person, but we do believe we have identified the suspect in this case. We believe the suspect and the victims knew each other and there is no threat to the public.
