[ARCHIVED] KCSO Responds to Fatal Crash

Post Falls, Idaho:  On 1/23/21 at approximately 8:07 PM, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, Kootenai Fire and Rescue, and the KCSO Traffic Unit responded to the area of W. Seltice Way and Wellsley Avenue for a report two vehicle collision. Initial reports indicated that one occupant was lying on the ground.

Once first responders arrived on scene they located both vehicles in the middle of the two eastbound lanes. One driver was transported with potential injuries. The other driver, identified as Danny Yeoman of Spokane Valley, Washington, was pronounced deceased on scene despite life saving measures being taken. Yeoman’s family was notified of the incident.

The roadway was closed for several hours while the KCSO Traffic Unit investigated the collision. The initial investigation has shown Yeoman crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic striking the other vehicle head-on. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor of the accident as results from blood samples are still pending.  Also it is believed that speed was not considered a factor.  This investigation is still ongoing so more information will be released as the investigation continues.

If you have any information regarding the accident, please contact Deputy Leyk with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit at (208)446-1300.
