[ARCHIVED] KCSO Responds to Fatal Motorcycle Crash

Post Falls, ID:  On 09/05/20, at approximately 1620 hours, several Deputies from the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, along with the KCSO Traffic Team, Kootenai Fire/Rescue, and Post Falls Highway District responded to the 1800 Block of N. Beck Road north of the Stateline Speedway for a reported Injury Crash.

A head-on collision was reported between a truck and a motorcycle just north of the Stateline Speedway. The driver and sole occupant of the truck was unharmed, however, the operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene. The crash ended in a field where a small grass fire started. The fire was quickly put out by fire personnel.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Team along with the assistance of the Idaho State Police responded to investigate the incident. At the end of the investigation, the driver of the truck, Terry Pratt, was arrested for felony vehicular manslaughter. Alcohol is not expected to be a factor.

The deceased’s identity will be withheld until the next of kin can be notified.
