Stage 1 Guidance

Kootenai County, ID: – On Thursday, April 23rd, Governor Little released a four staged step down process to reopen Idaho. Beginning on Friday, May 1st, Stage 1 begins. Below are some of the changes that will commence.

Non-essential business can open as long as they are able to limit close interactions with patrons such as, but not limited to:

  • Online, digital or telephonic ordering
  • Curbside pickup
  • Delivery
  • Establishing hours of operations for vulnerable populations
  • Limiting numbers of patrons in the business at a time
  • Directing the flow of traffic in and out of the business
  • Use of signage and barrier protection to limit movement and maintaining distancing

Places of worship can open if they adhere to strict physical distancing, sanitation protocol, and any CDC guidance. Additionally, daycares, organized youth activities, and camps can reopen. However, they will need to ensure implementation of social distancing, intensify disinfection efforts, modify drop off procedures, and implement screening procedures upon arrival, pursuant to CDC guidelines.

It should be noted that some of the previous guidelines are still in effect. Specifically, out-of-state residents entering Idaho will be required to continue to self-quarantine for 14 days. Also, restaurant dining rooms will need to maintain being closed but can continue to offer curbside and drive through options. In addition gyms, movie theaters, senior care facilities, correctional facilities, and hair salons will continue to be closed to the general public.

Under all the listed stages individuals should continue to engage in social distancing, wear face coverings in public, stay home if sick, practice good hygiene, and disinfect surfaces and objects regularly.
