[ARCHIVED] Police Activity Blocks Highway 97 Near Arrow Point

Kootenai County, ID: – Highway 97, south of Interstate 90, near Arrow Point is currently blocked due to police activity.

At about 7:40 PM, Idaho State Police units located a vehicle, on I-90 east of Coeur d’Alene, suspected to be involved in a shooting incident in Coeur d’Alene that occurred about 20 minutes earlier.  Following a brief pursuit on I-90, and Highway 97, the Idaho State Police initiated a pursuit intervention technique (PIT). There was also reported shots fired. The vehicle wrecked and the suspect, whom was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Kootenai County Jail.

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit along with members of the North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force responded to the scene as part of the Critical Incident Task Force for the ongoing investigation.

Highway 97 will be blocked for an estimated 2-3 more hours.
