Evening Briefing Report-COVID-19 3-21-20

Kootenai County, ID:  Following the evening briefing of the Kootenai County Emergency Operations Center Unified Command, today’s report shows no new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Kootenai County.

As of 3:45 p.m., for the State of Idaho, there are a total of 41 confirmed cases; three in Kootenai County, one in Canyon, 11 in Ada County, 21 in Blaine County, one in Placer, one in Twin Falls County, one in Madison County, two in Teton County, according to the state website. 

As of this writing, there have been 858 people tested through the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories and 359 tested through commercial laboratories.  In addition, the cities of Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls will be instituting a mandatory closure of all bars within each city, effective at midnight on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Also, all restaurants will be closing all dining rooms and only allowing takeout, drive thru or delivery service.  The Mayor of Hayden also conducted an in person inspection of each restaurant falling within the city limits. Each establishment was compliant with the CDC’s recommendations of no more than 10 people within each dining room. City leaders will be meeting on Tuesday to discuss if any further action should be taken.

Today, we were notified that the U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low interest federal disaster loans for small businesses in Idaho suffering substantial economic injury due to COVID-19. Please following the attached link for more information.

As of today, there will be no media releases on Sunday, unless there are significant changes that require an update. However, please continue to follow the Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management Facebook page as your go-to source for the most accurate facts for COVID-19 in Kootenai County.
