KCSD Staff Members at Work at the 911 Center

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department is currently staffed by 420 total employees, including reserves and volunteers.  Of those personnel, 83 are POST Patrol certified staff in assignments ranging from patrol deputies, sergeants, detectives, and administrative command staff.  Additionally, there are 71 POST Detention certified personnel assigned as detention deputies, sergeants and administrative command staff.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Department currently has 122 civilian staff members.  Their assignments are varied and all serve as support to the main functions and operation of the Department.  Civilian positions include dispatchers, nurses, maintenance technicians, cooks, jail technicians, mechanics and secretaries and clerks throughout the department.

Our support staff work in variety of areas.  From the Records Division, Civil Division, Driver's License, 911 and Administrative Support, we have a strong team of people who are dedicated professionals.
