MISSION / PURPOSE
The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse is a non-profit, volunteer group organized to promote good fellowship among horsemen of Kootenai County. Our activities in the past have included, but are definitely not limited to, the following:
• Regular Monthly Meetings
• Parade Details
• Security Details
• Search & Rescue Details
• Equestrian Trail Rides
• Fund Raising Activities
• Community Involvement Activities
BECOMING A MEMBER
Our membership process starts with having you complete an Application and returning it to Posse at Kootenai County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse, 10865 N. Ramsey Road, Hayden, ID 83835. To obtain an application, please contact Kim Homdrom at (208)661-6565.
The next step in process is to attend one of the monthly Posse meetings.
When you attend your first meeting we conduct a brief interview which is an opportunity for us to explain in more detail what we do, and for you to ask us any questions you may have. Your application is then forwarded to the Sheriff’s Department and a background check is done. We ask that members attend three meetings prior to being voted on for membership.
MEETINGS:
The Posse’s Regular Meetings are the 4th Monday of each month, at 7:00 p.m., at the Search & Rescue Council Building at 10865 N. Ramsey Road.
FUNDRAISING:
Kootenai County Mounted Posse is supported entirely by donations from the community and some reimbursements for search expenses. If you are interested in making a donation, please send the donation to the address below.
