**We cannot recommend any person or business named on this list. The list is provided as a courtesy. Be aware there is no agency overseeing private process servers in the State of Idaho. Contact more than one to get an idea of pricing. IRCP Rule 4(c)(1) “Service of all process shall be made by an officer authorized by law to serve process, or by some person over the age of eighteen (18), not a party to the action. A subpoena may be served as provided in Rule 45.” (For information serving process refer to Idaho Code and Idaho Rules of Civil Procedure.) The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office cannot provide legal advice.

****Documents to provide, fees and deposit to pay to have our office attach and sell real property. To bid at a Kootenai County Sheriff’s real property sale the bidder must provide either a letter of credit from their bank or a cashier’s check for the total amount of cash they have available as of 3:30 p.m. the day of the sale. If the winning bid is less than the amount of the check, they will need to get the check made out to the exact amount of the bid as we cannot give change on a check. The winning bidder must pay in full by 4:00 p.m. the day of the sale in cash or certified funds. Per I.C. 11-305, “If a purchaser refuses to pay the amount bid by him for property struck off to him at a sale under execution, the officer may again sell the property at any time to the highest bidder, and if any loss be occasioned thereby, the officer may recover the amount of such loss, with the costs, from the bidder so refusing, in any court of competent jurisdiction.”
